Schizophrenia Commission delivers its report

The Schizophrenia Commission, set up by charity Rethink Mental Illness, has delivered its report The Abandoned Illness.

The report is the result of a year of sessions and hearings around the country with medical clinicians, researchers, policy makers, carers and people with lived experience.

I was fortunate enough to attend one of the commission’s sessions in London, in May this year.  It was a remarkable and unique occasion, with contributors from all different fields of medical and social care research and practice, as well as persons living with a diagnosis and their families and carers.

The commission’s website is well worth a visit.  So too is Rethink’s site.  (And you can join the charity to support their work, if you so choose …)
