Big changes at the Wellcome Collection, London

An expansion and redesign is planned for the Wellcome Collection building on Euston Road.

As a regular at the library, I’m a little nervous about the reading room being ‘transformed into a public space.’  It felt rather like hearing on the news that people are going to be redecorating your living room.  Also, in what way is a library reading room not a public space?

Also of interest, the BBC have filed the story under ‘Arts & Culture’ within the ‘Entertainment & Arts’ section of the site, and not under either ‘Health’ or ‘Sci/Environment’.  A sure sign of the cultural rise of medical humanities …
