We’re very excited to announce the inaugural programme of seminars the Leeds Centre for Medical Humanities. All are welcome.
Monday 5 November, 5.00-6.00: Claire Jones (Director, Museum of the History of Science, Technology and Medicine, University of Leeds) – ‘From Mancles to Microscopes: Exploring and Accessing the Material Culture of Medicine at Leeds’.
Monday 12 November, 5.00-6.00: Ria Cheyne (Education Studies, Liverpool Hope University) – ‘Can Love Heal All Wounds? Disability and Cure in Popular Romance Novels’.
Tuesday 20 November, 4.00-6.00: Collaboration workshop with Medical Humanities Centre, Durham University.
Monday 26 November, 5.00-6.00: Alice Hall (English and Related Literatures, University of York) ‘Disability Aesthetics: “Shameless Beauty” in Toni Morrison’s Fiction and Criticism’.
All events will take place in the LCMH, basement, School of English, Cavendish Road.
